Woman Balances Motherhood, Running Own Business

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A local mom is spreading positive reinforcement in a gift manufactured in the Tri-State area.

Chrisie Canny calls herself a "momtrepreneur."

"As a momtrepreneur, your role says mom and as a business owner, so you're holding a kid in one hand and you're on the computer, or I take my kids to trade shows with me," she told CBS2's Diane Macedo.

Canny's company, Fortune Keeper, makes items such as key chains, bracelets and necklaces that slide open so that people can include a fortune, photo or personal goal inside.
