Westchester School Bus Driver Accused Of DWI Following Crash With Kids On Board

CORTLANDT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Westchester school bus driver is accused of driving drunk and sideswiping a utility pole with 35 students on board.

Mary Coletti, 56, was driving the students to Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt on Monday when the crash happened.

Police said she hit the pole around 7 a.m. Several students suffered minor injuries.

According to authorities, Coletti's blood alcohol level was above the legal limit of .08 percent.

Lakeland School District Superintendent George Stone told The Journal News Coletti's bus driver's license has been revoked.

Coletti was arraigned Monday and sent to jail on $1,000 bail. She's due back in court May 18.
