NYPD: 2 Hurt After Gunfire Erupts During Brooklyn Bodega Robbery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for two men who they said held up a bodega in Brooklyn earlier this week.

The suspects were caught on surveillance video running from the scene Tuesday afternoon in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Both men were armed with guns when they walked into the bodega, located at 433 Throop Avenue, police said. One of the suspects jumped behind the counter and took cash from the register while the other suspect fought with a clerk, police said.

Another clerk was shot in the chest and armpit after getting into a struggle with one of the suspects as the duo tried to flee the store, police said.

More shots were fired — possibly by the clerk — as the suspects ran off, CBS2 reported. A 24-year-old woman on the street was shot in the leg, police said.

The woman was picking up her child from daycare at the time, police sources said.

Both the woman and the clerk are listed in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips to the Crime Stoppers website or text their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then enter TIP577.
