Teen Charged In Brooklyn Subway Robbery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the robbery of another teenager on a Brooklyn subway train last week.

Brandon Parchment, of Queens, was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree robbery.

According to police, a group approached the 16-year-old victim around 3:30 p.m. Friday on a southbound L train near the Broadway Junction station and asked him, "What gang are you in?" When the boy said he was not in a gang, the group began to punch and kick him in the face and body, police said.

They then pulled him out of the train at the Atlantic Avenue stop, where they continued to assault him, stole his cellphone, sneakers and jeans, and fled, cops said.

The victim was rushed to Brookdale Hospital for treatment. He was knocked unconscious and suffered a severe injury to his right eye, authorities said.

Police released surveillance images of two of the suspects. Police would not say Monday if Parchment was one of the two suspects in the photos.
