Boomer and Craig had a whole host of topics to discuss Thursday morning, beginning with the story surrounding the Mets, who got a big-time performance out of Noah Syndergaard. The rookie pitcher made some noise with both his arm and his bat, hitting a long home run in his second big league win.

Speaking of young pitchers, Boomer has long been an advocate of a six-man rotation and his idea may just end up coming to fruition, albeit with some resistance.

Over in the Bronx, much-maligned slugger Alex Rodriguez contributed to a 4-2 Yankees win by belting a three-run homer in the third inning, giving him 1,995 RBIs for his career, good for third all-time (according to Elias). That brought up the age-old question: when the time comes, should (not will) A-Rod be allowed into Baseball's Hall of Fame?

Finally, Todd Bowles set the record straight with regards to the Jets' starting quarterback after Chan Gailey declared last week that Geno Smith was the man.  According to Bowles -- who is the head coach, by the way -- Geno will have to win the job.  So there's that, too...
