Police Seek 3 Men In Downtown Manhattan Sex Assault

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching for three suspects early Tuesday, in connection with the sexual assault of a woman in a downtown Manhattan building.

The attack happened around 5 a.m. Monday in a building at an unspecified address in the Fifth NYPD Precinct, police said. The precinct includes Chinatown, Little Italy, NoLIta, the Civic Center area, and parts of the Lower East Side.

The 33-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by the three men, who also stole her property, police said. She was treated at an area hospital and her condition was listed as stable, police said.

One of the suspects was described as an Asian male around 20 years old, with a thin build and a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers and glasses.

A second suspect was described as a white male, also around 20 years old with a thin build and a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a black and gray baseball cap, a red Nike sweat shirt, and blue jeans with tan boots.

The third suspect was described as a black male, also around 20 years old with a thin build, and a dark complexion. He was wearing a gray Adidas hooded sweat shirt, white shorts and white sneakers.

Police released a surveillance video of the three suspects walking into a building together and going up the stairs, and finally all running out.
