Woman Shot, Robbed While Walking Down MLK Drive In Jersey City
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A woman was talking Thursday about the horror of being shot while walking down a Jersey City street.
Yvonne Scott was walking on Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City when she was shot in the middle of her back near her spine.
"I thought I tripped and I was shot. I was shot," Scott told 1010 WINS' Rebecca Granet.
That's when she felt people going through her pockets.
"I was thinking people was helping me after being shot, but you know being victimized," she said.

She said she was robbed as she laid in her own blood. Her jewelry, medication, and pocketbook were taken.
"I'm truly grateful I didn't die," she said.
The bullet is still lodged in her back. It has forced Scott to walk with a cane.
