6/8 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Monday mornin' folks; the weather, it is a changin'...expect more clouds filling in today with humidity levels shooting up as well. High temps will be similar to yesterday, with a max of 76 in NYC. A frontal system will be the focal point for showers and thunderstorms this evening. Some storms could be strong, maybe even severe, with damaging winds and small hail. Torrential rain can be expected even in non-severe storms. Looks like the most likely time frame will be 5pm-midnight.

Morning Wakeup

Showers/storms continue Tuesday morning but will be weaker and more spotty in nature. A few isolated storms Tuesday afternoon can't be ruled out either; however, the bigger story Tuesday will be the surge in temps. Highs will top out in the low 80s, so we'll be above normal for the first time in a while!

Morning Severe

Wednesday looks like it'll be the pick of the week with low 80s for high temps, plentiful sun, and low humidity...get out and enjoy it!
