Overturned Tractor-Trailer Causes Major Delays On Route 17 In Mahwah, NJ
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An overturned tractor-trailer caused major delays for drivers on Route 17 in Mahwah, N.J. Wednesday evening.
The driver had been trapped in the truck for about an hour before being removed, CBS2's Joe Biermann reported. He died a short time after being rescued.
The ramp from northbound Route 17 that winds around and puts you onto southbound 287 was closed with all of the emergency equipment, Biermann reported.
There weree major delays in all directions.
Northbound 17 was backed up at least 2 miles. Southbound 287 was jammed for about 3 miles, Biermann reported.
