Man In Custody After Police-Involved Shooting In The Bronx
BRONX (CBSNewYork) -- A man is in custody after he reportedly shot at police while trying to flee from them in the Bronx early Saturday morning.
Plainclothes officers were canvassing the area of Westchester Avenue and Rowland Street around 12:04 a.m. after receiving a report of an unrelated shooting, 1010 WINS Roger Stern reports.

They encountered a 19-year-old man who fled when police approached.
The suspect fled on foot towards Tratman Avenue, before turning left onto Zerega Avenue. The officers chased the suspect and as they approached him from behind, he turned on them and fired two rounds from a semi-automatic handgun.
The two officers returned fire, discharging a total of four rounds at the suspect, but not striking him, according to NYPD.
The suspect dropped the firearm, which had one round lodged in the chamber, and ran northbound on Zerega Avenue.
He was apprehended in front of 1439 Zerega Avenue, found hiding underneath a vehicle. The .40 caliber Glock 23 was confiscated from the suspect. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and evaluation.
The three officers and sergeant were taken to Jacobi Hospital for medical evaluation and later released.
Charges against the suspect are pending. The investigation is ongoing.
