6/15 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines
Monday, Monday...fitting that we're gettin' back into the grind with a rainy start to the work week. As a matter of fact, some pretty heavy rain is moving through the area along with some thunderstorms.
Make sure to be extra careful heading into work this morning because ponding/flooding of roadways is expected. Anywhere from 1-2" of rain is likely. Overall it's gonna be a warm, humid, and stormy morning across the area.
Rain will become spotty this afternoon and there may even be some breaks of sun - but don't be fooled. There will still be plenty of available energy, warmth, and moisture to set off more isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Expect a high temperature of 79 in NYC, in the 60s on Eastern LI, and in the 80s in central/southern NJ.
Tomorrow will be warmer with 80s for most folks, but there will still be a storm chance with a front moving through. Once again, a few storms could be strong/severe. Not trying to sound like a broken record, but it is June after all.
Wednesday looks like a beauty with sunny skies, dry air, and temps comfortably in the upper 70s/low 80s.
