Interview: Previewing Taste Asia 2015

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One of the largest and most diverse Asian food festivals is happening in Times Square in just days.

Taste Asia 2015, being held Friday and Saturday, celebrates the deep culinary arts of Asian and Asian-inspired cuisine.

Taste Asia co-curator Channaly Philipp stopped by the CBS2 studios to preview the upcoming festival with Diane Macedo and Elise Finch while Chef Brian Tsao cooked up beef bulgogi tacos.

"It's going to be a great time," Philipp said of Taste Asia. "We're going to take over Times Square. And so over two days, on Friday and Saturday, we're going to have a variety of top chefs on the first day, including Brian and top chef David Bouley.

"And on the second day, we're going to have a competition ... looking for the best Chinese chef in the world basically. It's super intense. The chefs don't find out what they're cooking until the competition starts."
