6/27 CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

By now some light rain is moving through parts of the area, but that's just a taste of what's ahead overnight. Clouds stick around through the evening with temps holding pretty much steady in the mid/upper 60s. Steady rain approaches before midnight and becomes heavy at times thereafter. We could get some thunderstorms as well. When all is said in done, rainfall of 1-2" looks possible, with folks in the Lower Hudson Valley and NW J getting the most rain.

Evening Tomorrow Highs

We don't expect tremendous river flooding issues, mainly because rain will only be periodically heavy, and will occur over the course of the night. Still though, some small streams could have issues. The main concern will be roadway & poor drainage flooding...so if you have to drive overnight, just be careful and take it slow!

Evening Night Board

Rain will taper to showers as we head through Sunday morning. After lunchtime, we could even get some sunshine breaking through! It will be a much warmer day than what we had today with a high of 79...still 3 degrees below where we should be. Unfortunately we cannot rule out a chance for a passing shower in the afternoon/evening, but nothing like what we'll have overnight.

Monday looks like a real beauty with plenty of sun and temps in the low 80s!
