Person Hit By Train In New Brunswick; NJ TRANSIT, Amtrak Trains Halted At Penn Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak service headed toward New Jersey was halted at Penn Station late Wednesday afternoon, after a person was struck by a train in New Brunswick.

All westbound Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT trains were held at Penn Station during the evening rush.

NJ TRANSIT rail tickets and passes were being accepted on PATH trains out of the 33rd Street, World Trade Center, Hoboken, and Newark Penn stations.

NJ TRANSIT rail tickets were also being honored on NJ TRANSIT and private carrier buses.

Northeast Corridor trains were subject to 60-minute delays, and extensive delays were expected across the NJ TRANSIT rail system and on Amtrak.
