Teen Accused Of Shooting Man During Robbery In Kings Park

KINGS PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A teenager was arrested Friday for allegedly shooting a man on Long Island.

Authorities said the shooting happened at a home on Old Dock Road in Kings Park when 16-year-old Gaven Benson was invited as a guest to Amal Cummings' home, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

Detectives said around 11 p.m. Wednesday Benson pulled out a gun and stole money from Cummings and her friend Henry Wrobel, then shot Wrobel in the leg before running from the scene.

Wrobel, 29, was treated and released from St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown.

Benson, of Middle Island, faces a slew of charges, including assault and robbery.
