Connecticut Girl Missing After Flying To Morocco To Meet Facebook Friend

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) --  A teenager from Clinton, Connecticut is missing after flying to Morocco to meet up with one of her Facebook friends.

Rebecca Arthur, 17, was dropped off at the Delta Airlines terminal at JFK Airport on Monday July 6, police said.

Arthur then flew to Casablanca, Morocco to see her Facebook friend, Sima El Adala, police said. She arrived in Morocco the next day, according to police.

Her parents were unaware of her plans or the details of the Facebook relationship with El Adala, police said.

Rebecca is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds. She has blue eyes and blonde hair with red highlights.

She was last seen wearing black yoga pants, a black sleeveless shirt and pink, blue, and white Nike sneakers.

She also had a red suit case.

The Clinton Police Department is requesting anyone who has contact with Rebecca or Sima, or knows any information about either of them or their whereabouts to please call immediately and speak to Officer Santiago or Sgt. Flynn at 860-669-0451.
