Police: Suspects In Mount Kisco Slaying Have Been Deported Before
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Two men charged in the bludgeoning death of a day laborer in Mount Kisco have three deportations between them, authorities said.
Jose Sanchez, 53, was found dead Sunday night in a wooded gathering spot and frequent squatters' camp near the Metro-North tracks, WCBS 880's Paul Murnane reported.
Freddy Coronado-Mendez, 32, and Milton Ventura, 35, have been charged with first-degree manslaughter. Police believe they got into a fight with Sanchez. Cops recovered a piece of wood they believe was used as a weapon in the crime.

At a nearby bodega, behind a collection box for the victim's funeral, a man who identified himself only as "Andres" told Murnane that Sanchez, a Honduran immigrant, worked landscaping jobs in the area and seemed to be living in the woods where he died.
"Good guy, but I don't know what happened," Andres said.
Coronado-Mendez, who is from Guatemala, has already been deported twice, police said. He has a criminal record, including an arrest on an assault charge.
Ventura, also from Guatemala, was deported once before.
The situation has left a weariness in the voice of Mayor Michael Cindrich.
"It's a tragedy that the federal government has failed to address, and we do our part," he told Murnane.
