Tree Falls On SUV, Kills Woman In Millburn, N.J.

MILLBURN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A New Jersey woman was killed Friday when a tree fell and landed on her car.

Susan Niler, 50, of Verona was driving down Brookside Drive near Orange Avenue in Millburn Friday morning when a tree fell on her Jeep Cherokee at 6:35 p.m., according to the Essex County Prosecutor's office.

The tree also took down some electrical wires, officials said.

Niler was taken to Morristown Medical Center in Morristown where she was pronounced dead, officials said.

She was alone in the vehicle at the time, officials said.

The sheriff's office said the rain on Thursday might have been a factor in the collapse of the tree.
