Dash Cam Appears To Show Bicyclist Fleeing Serious Upper East Side Crash

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New York police are looking for a bicyclist accused of leaving the scene of a serious collision on the Upper East Side Tuesday afternoon.

The collision happened around 2:33 p.m. Tuesday in front of 1655 1st Ave.

Police say a bicyclist was riding northbound on 1st Avenue when he struck a 67-year-old female pedestrian who was attempting to cross the bike lane to get to her car.

The woman was thrown to the ground and police say the bicyclist did not stop, but fled north on 1st Avenue and made a left turn to go west on East 87th Street.

The woman, who was not identified, suffered severe head and face trauma and was taken to New York Presbyterian Cornell Hospital in critical condition.
