7/18 CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather
By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good evening everybody! You may have noticed a noticeable uptick in the humidity values across the area after the stormy start. Unfortunately, the heat and humidity will only continue to rise over the next two days. Expect a few showers & rumbles early, and then partly clear skies overnight with a very mild low of 75 degrees.
Heat alerts go into effect tomorrow for the Tri-State area and last until Monday evening for some. We'll be dealing with the warmest and most humid airmass we've had all year, with temperatures easily reaching the low 90s. It will feel closer to 100 degrees in NYC/NJ, and some spots in central/southern NJ will feel closer to 105. Take extra caution if you have to be outside - plenty of water, light clothing, and frequent breaks from activity.
Still very warm with a high of 90 on Monday but with a chance of thunderstorms early in the morning. Expect partial clearing in the afternoon with a chance for a few more pop-ups before a cold front moves through later that night.
Check in soon for the latest on the summer heat!
