Police: 5 Men Held Queens Woman At Gunpoint, Stole Family Savings

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New York police are looking for a quintet of men accused of holding a woman at gunpoint while stealing her family's life savings.

Luz Blanco told CBS2's Tony Aiello that her mother is still traumatized after the men allegedly forced their way into a Queens apartment, covered the woman's face with a towel and held a gun to her head.

Ricardo Blanco said he wasn't home when the men put a pistol to his wife's head, forced her to the floor and stole $90,000 from a locked filing cabinet. It was the money the family had been saving to buy a new home.

"We was thinking about buying a home and now we don't have nothing," Luz Blanco said.

Blanco believes someone who visited her father learned about the money and plotted to steal it.

Now this hard working family of immigrants from the Dominican Republic must work even harder to rebuild their nest egg, Aiello reported.

No arrests have been made. Police are still investigating.
