Boomer & Carton: Harvey Just Isn't Enough For Mets

Oh those Amazin' Mets!

Matt Harvey was on the hill Monday night in D.C., looking to get things rolling for his squad, which had lost two of three since restarting things after the All-Star break. After the Mets threatened with two on and one out in the first but failed to plate a run, the Nationals answered with a two-spot in the bottom half of the frame and according to Craig, that was all you had to see.  The Nats went on to score five more runs on the night, while the Mets managed to tally just two -- which came off the bat of the aforementioned Matt Harvey -- and really sums up the Mets offensive "game plan" if you will.  Craig is hoping the offensive ineptitude is not lost on Sandy Alderson.

So it was a 7-2 Mets loss that captivated Boomer and Craig's attention early on Tuesday morning, a game the Blonde Bomber says you just have to try to forget.  Harvey was tagged with the loss, but did end his night by retiring the last 14 batters he faced -- a slight silver lining, I suppose.

We also got to hear what Phil Jackson thinks of his former player J.R. Smith -- who is still without a contract after choosing not to exercise his player option with the Cavs -- and once-troubled Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu locked himself in a hot car for a very good cause.

Talkin' all about it on a Tuesday...
