Good afternoon!

Partly sunny skies will continue this afternoon, with a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms. Not everyone will see them, but where they do move through can expect a brief, heavy downpour.

Highs will top out in the upper 80s. If you're headed to the beaches of Long Island, keep in mind there is a high risk of rip currents today ... moderate risk for the Jersey shore.

Mostly cloudy overnight with a chance for a shower or thunderstorm continuing. The threat sticks around tomorrow before we turn up the heat midweek. In fact, it looks like we'll be seeing the summer's first heat wave in the city with temps in the mid 90s!
