NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Residents in a Newark community are on edge following a fatal shooting over the weekend.

Agostinoh Sousa, 40, was shot in the chest and killed on Walnut Street just before 7:15 a.m. Sunday, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.

A Newark resident, named Ruby, said Sousa's body was found in the alleyway next to her home.

"I'm really nervous," Ruby said. "I'm really worried about my kids because my kids play in the backyard."

Neighbors said they believe Sousa was being robbed of his cellphone when he was shot.

The prosecutor's office said robbery is a possible motive, 1010 WINS' Rebecca Granet reported.

No arrest has been made.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Task Force at 877-847-7432 or 973-621-4586.
