Bobbi Kristina Brown Buried Next To Mother In Westfield, NJ Cemetery

WESTFIELD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Family and friends gathered in New Jersey to say a final goodbye to Bobbi Kristina Brown.

As Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier reported, the burial was brief, but intense.

She was laid to rest Monday at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, next to her mother, late singer and entertainer Whitney Houston, who was buried there three years ago.

The procession led by police escorts from Whigham Funeral Home in Newark arrived at the cemetery just after noon, with a gold hearse carrying Bobbi Kristina's body. The family stayed at the cemetery for about an hour, 1010 WINS' Rebecca Granet reported.

"It's just hard to put words on it, you feel for the family," said April, who lives across the street from the cemetery.

The 22-year-old died in hospice care on July 26, about six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in the suburban Atlanta town home she shared with Nick Gordon, the man she called her husband. A police report described it as a "drowning."

Police said Gordon and a friend found Bobbi Kristina and that he was reportedly giving her CPR when police arrived. She was hospitalized and put into a medically-induced coma and remained on life support for months.

Bobbi Kristina's funeral was held Saturday in Alpharetta, Georgia -- just north of Atlanta.

She was the only child of Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown.
