GLEN ROCK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A northern New Jersey police officer had sexually explicit online conversations with two teenage girls and sent nude photos of himself to one of them, prosecutors said.

Glen Rock Sgt. Eric Reamy was arrested Wednesday and faces five counts of child endangerment.

The 51-year-old Fair Lawn resident was the Glen Rock department's juvenile officer and was in charge of the detective bureau, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said. At the time the alleged communications occurred, they say Reamy was "investigating and/or supervising'' the two girls, ages 14 and 17.

The married father of three contacted both teens on numerous occasions, prosecutors said. He allegedly asked the 14-year-old to send him nude photos and sent her two naked photos "of his private part,'' Molinelli said.

Glen Rock residents were disgusted by the news.

"I just think it's disgusting, you know of all people," resident Heidi Fatullah said. "I can't believe I'm hearing this actually, ew."

"That seems to be going on a lot now," resident Michael Powers said.

Reamy is being held at the Bergen County jail on $250,000 bail.

Authorities are investigating whether there are more victims.
