Boomer and Craig were full of energy and ready to attack their Thursday morning radio obligations, which is exactly what they did, beginning with the baseball locals.

The Mets increased their lead in the NL East to 3.5 games after yet another dominant performance courtesy of Jacob deGrom -- aka "The deGrominator" -- who struck out 10 Rockies through seven innings before turning it over to the bullpen.  The 3-0 win was Terry Collins club's third straight and the team apparently now has a "rally parakeet" to call upon.

Conversely, the Yankees lost their fifth game in a row -- a 2-1 loss in Cleveland -- as the offensive outage continues to be a problem for Joe Girardi and the Bombers.  The loss knocked the Yanks from their perch atop the AL East, as the freight train that is Toronto now holds that honor.

Shifting gears to the NFL, as the recently maligned linebacker IK Enemkpali gets his second chance from Rex Ryan and the Bills.  As for Enemkpali's former team, the Jets open up their preseason schedule tonight in Detroit against the Lions and will have Ryan Fitzpatrick under center.
