Man Wanted In Brutal Rape, Assault Of Woman In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New York City police are looking for a man who allegedly raped and assaulted a woman at gunpoint in Brooklyn early Monday morning.

The incident happened at 3 a.m. in the area of Putnam Street and Lefferts Place.

Police say the suspect threatened the 52-year-old woman with a gun, and ordered her to follow him to a staircase outside a building on Lefferts Place where he pushed his fingers down her throat. The man then reportedly removed the victim's underwear and raped her, police say.

The woman lost two teeth in the attack and was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 30s with a muscular build. He may have bite marks on his right hand.
