Amtrak Adding Extra Trains, Cars During Papal Visit

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Amtrak will be adding extra trains and cars to accommodate customers during Pope Francis' visit next month.

With papal events scheduled in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, Amtrak said it is anticipating an increased demand along the Northeast Corridor from Sept. 25 to Sept. 28.

Starting Friday, Sept. 25, extra coaches will be added to some Amtrak trains, but reservations will be required on all Acela Express, Northeast Regional and Keystone Service trains.

Amtrak says it will also have Philadelphia-centric "Event Extra" service on Sept. 26 and 27.
