Police: Teen Arrested In Violent Harlem Robbery Caught On Video

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police say a 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a violent robbery in Harlem that was caught on camera.

The teen was charged Thursday with robbery, police said. His name has not been released.

The incident happened just after 2 a.m. on West 138th Street back on Aug. 2 and was captured on surveillance video.

Police said the teen walked up to a 24-year-old woman from behind, threw her to the ground, kicked and punched her. He then took her purse and iPhone and ran away, police said.

The woman was not badly hurt and refused medical attention.
