8/29 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia

Good Afternoon!

Another winner is on tap for the last weekend in August with plenty of sun and temps climbing into the mid 80s. Slightly cooler along the coast and in the mountains, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low near 70 in the city and 60s in the suburbs. Tomorrow will be a similar story, but slightly warmer with highs in the upper 80s. Some places will reach the 90 mark. There is a chance of an afternoon or evening shower/storm, mainly north and west of the city. Looks like any activity would be isolated and not widespread, so wouldn't cancel any outdoor plans.

We're really feeling the heat and humidity by Monday and that trend looks to continue to kick off September. Three days of 90 or more in a row would give us our second heat wave of the season!

As for the tropics, Erika dissipated this morning into a trough of low pressure. The remnants could bring some periods of heavy rain to parts of southern and central Florida by tomorrow.

Have a great weekend!
