9/3 CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

This afternoon we're working towards our 5th consecutive 90+° day. That said, if we do in fact meet the mark, this will be our longest heat wave of 2015! But no matter which way you slice it, it's going to feel hotter than 90° because of the humidity, so keep cool.

There could be a stray shower/storm late this afternoon into tonight, but as of this morning, our frontal passage is looking more dry than wet. So, expect a generally quiet night with temps falling into the mid to low 70s.

There will be a leftover shower chance tomorrow, possibly even into the afternoon (especially inland), but odds remain low. Also, it will be noticeably cooler around the area... low 80s instead of low 90s. As for the skies, they'll be mostly cloudy to partly cloudy/sunny into the afternoon.

As we head into Saturday, we're looking great. Skies will be mostly sunny, humidity levels will be down, and we'll be in the low 80s again -- which is where we should be this time of the year.

As for the remainder of the holiday weekend, expect mostly sunny skies and warming temps... near 90° by Labor Day!

Don't forget to check back.
