NYPD: 2nd Suspect Arrested In June Shooting Death Of Livery Cab Driver In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have made another arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of a livery cab driver in Brooklyn several months ago.

On June 29, 35-year-old Naji Fawaz was found in the front seat of his car on Decatur Street between Malcolm X Boulevard and Patchen Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds to the neck and torso. He was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

Investigators believe two passengers in Fawaz's livery cab robbed him before the shooting, which then caused him to slam into a parked car.

Several days after the shooting, police arrested Tyrell Gardenhire, 24, and charged him with murder, attempted robbery and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

Now, police have announced the arrest of 23-year-old Unique Gray, of Brooklyn.

Gray is charged with first- and second-degree murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Fawaz was a father of two young children and a native of Yemen.
