Escobar had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

She was last seen with her 30-year-old boyfriend, Luis Zambrano, on Sept. 4, 1010 WINS' Mona Rivera reported.

He was last seen driving the victim's car, which was found parked not far from his home, police said. He is now being sought by police in connection with Escobar's murder.

Amy Escobar said her sister was breaking up with Zambrano.

"We were told that he was a very jealous man and he was very obsessed and very possessive," she told Rivera. "That man needs to be found."

Angie Escobar's ex-fiance, Michael Alvarez, hopes police catch Zambrano soon.

"He deserves to rot in prison cause he took away the mother of my two beautiful kids," Alvarez said.

Zambrano is described as 5'7" tall, 200 pounds with a bald head. Police have released his photograph.

Escobar leaves behind a toddler and a second-grader.
