Jets Vs. Colts 2015 NFL Week 2 Odds, Predictions & Picks ATS Preview

By Abraham Gutierrez

If prior to the start of the 2015 NFL season someone would have asked to predict which of these two teams would be perfect after one week of play, not too many people would picked the (1-0) New York Jets. Even more surprising is the fact that the (0-1) Indianapolis Colts, one of the betting favorites to win Super Bowl 50, were absolutely dominated in Week 1 by a team that failed to qualify for the postseason a year ago.

"They beat us pretty bad," said Colts quarterback Andrew Luck following the Buffalo 27-14 victory. "You don't let one game necessarily define you, but that doesn't make it any easier of a pill to swallow."

Thus, the Gang Green appears to have earned the respect of NFL Week 2 oddsmakers, as the Jets come into this Monday night showdown with Indy listed as one-score underdogs. The latest NFL point spreads have the New York Jets at +7, the Colts at -7 favorites and the OVER/UNDER tallying 47 points.

Straight-up money lines are bit more unambiguous, however, with the Colts valued at -320 and New York's chances of an upset set at +260. However, that's as straightforward as betting analyses for this game get, as general consensus statistics and ATS trends also suggest this will be a highly-contested affair.

Jets vs. Colts 2015 NFL Week 2 ATS Action

Judging by the consensus figures, there's no doubt New York's performance in Week 1 is affecting the way ATS bettors are approaching this game. As of Thursday morning, only 54 percent of the population believes that Indy will be able to cover a one-score spread despite being at home. In turn, 46 percent are hopping on the Jets bandwagon, willing to wager that Todd Bowles' squads will be able to hang with one of the best teams in the NFL away from East Rutherford.

Jets ATS Trends To Consider For Week 2

For starters, Bowles & Co. enter Week 2 of the season with an ATS record of 4-0 in their last four games played. This team is also a perfect 5-0 in their last five ATS games against AFC teams, 4-1 in Week 2 contests, 3-1-2 following a straight-up win, and 3-1-1 versus teams with losing records. The last bit of information supporting a Jets cover is the fact that they come in 8-3-1 in their last 12 games after scoring more than 30 points the week prior.

Colts ATS Trends To Consider For Week 2

Not to be outdone, Indianapolis also has a case to make as the ones to bet on against the aforementioned spread. First, Luck's bunch sports a 6-0-1 record in their last seven home games versus teams with winning records. The horseshoe has also proven to be resilient, evidence by the fact that they are 18-3 in their last 21 games following a straight-up loss.

Finally, making a case for the home squad is the fact that they are 9-2 after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game, 16-4-1 following an ATS loss, 4-1 when scoring less than 15 points in their previous game, and finally, Indy is 9-3 in its last 12 Monday games.
