Donald Trump Boycotts Fox News Over 'Unfair' Treatment, Fox Fires Back

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Donald Trump is at it again with Fox News Channel.

Trump said Wednesday that he's done appearing on Fox News shows for the "foreseeable future" because he doesn't like the network's coverage of his presidential campaign.

The billionaire businessman and leading Republican candidate tweeted that Fox News has been treating him "very unfairly" and that he's going to stop appearing on its shows.

But a Fox spokeswoman said Trump only announced his boycott after the channel canceled a scheduled Trump appearance on "The O'Reilly Factor" Thursday.

In a statement, Fox News Channel said when coverage doesn't go Trump's way, he engages in personal attacks on Fox anchors and hosts.

The spokeswoman also said the behavior has "grown stale and tiresome."

Trump has been feuding with the network since the first GOP primary debate, when he objected to moderator and Fox anchor Megyn Kelly's questions.

Meanwhile, Trump appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" Tuesday evening and praised Colbert.

Trump and Colbert played a game that called for guessing who in the past had made certain outlandish remarks: Trump or the comically conservative blowhard Colbert played for a decade as host of "The Colbert Report."
