Yanks Limping To The Finish, Giants Kicking Some Tires, Mets Preparing For Dodgers

The Yankees got behind early last night in the Bronx and never recovered, falling to the Red Sox 10-4. That leaves them still hunting for a wild-card berth.

Boomer & Craig got things started Wednesday morning by discussing the Bombers as they struggle down the stretch. They will turn to Masahiro Tanaka tonight with the hope that he can stop the bleeding.

Moving right along to the Giants, Craig turned to his former football-playing buddy for clarification on the Giants' decision to work out Hakeem Nicks, Wes Welker and Chris Cooley on Tuesday.  Boomer explained that this is a regular practice in today's NFL, and the Giants were clearly sending a message to Rueben Randle, among others.

Then we have the Mets, who dropped one in Philadelphia to the Phillies. They still hold a one-game lead over the Dodgers for home-field advantage in the NLDS.
