Cops: 2 Men Robbed, Beat Man In Bronx Subway Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for two men they say attacked and robbed a man in a Bronx subway station last week.

The theft happened around 3 p.m. Monday on the stairwell of the subway station at Grand Concourse and East Tremont Avenue along the D line. The men approached the 38-year-old victim, pushed him down the stairs, punched him multiple times and then stole his backpack, which contained his wallet, police said. They ran out of the station to the northbound side of the Grand Concourse, cops said.

The victim refused medical attention.

Both suspects are described as Hispanic. One was seeing wearing a gray T-shirt, black jeans and black sneakers. The other was wearing a black T-shirt with a white square patch in the front, gray jeans and red sneakers with black laces.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspects to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-8477 or to submit a tip online at NYPDCrimeStoppers.com. All communications are kept confidential.
