Man Arrested In Midtown Stabbing; Victim In Critical Condition

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man in Midtown on Sunday morning, police said.

A 32-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach in front of 481 Eighth Ave. shortly after 5:30 a.m. following an altercation, police told WCBS 880. The address is the New Yorker hotel on the corner of West 34th Street and Eighth, near Penn Station.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center in critical condition, police said. He was in surgery Sunday morning, authorities said.

Police have not released the names of the suspect or victim.
