Crash Leaves Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Islip, Long Island

ISLIP, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday afternoon in a crash in Islip, Long Island.

Around 4 p.m., Amanda Dominick, 26, was operating a 2001 Suzuki 750 north on Cedar Avenue in Islip when she collided with a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee headed east on Maple Street, according to Suffolk County police.

Dominick, of Islip, was rushed to North Shore-LIJ Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was reported in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Jeep – Timothy Kaye, 34, of Lindenhurst – was uninjured, state police said.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks, state police said. Anyone with information about the accident was asked to call the Suffolk County Police Third Squad at (631) 854-8352.
