LI School Board Trustee Apologizes For Facebook Rant Calling For Killing Mentally Ill, Punching Obama

BOHEMIA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island school board trustee is under fire after an expletive-filled Facebook rant.

Theodore Imbasciani, a Connetquot school board trustee, apologized at a board meeting Tuesday night for the post, which called for killing mentally ill people and punching President Barack Obama, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported. The post has since been deleted.

At the meeting, Imbasciani, a former NYPD officer, told the audience of about 200 that he was upset over the recent college campus shootings.

Some at the meeting were very angry and called for the trustee's resignation. Imbasciani was elected to the board in 2013.

When Hall caught up with Imbasciani at his home in Lake Ronkonkoma, he did not want to comment.
