Search Continues For Prisoner Who Escaped Police Custody In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The search continues for a man who escaped police custody in Brooklyn.
Gerald Brooks, 39, was handcuffed behind his back when he shoved an officer to the ground in and ran off.
It happened Tuesday morning in East New York.
Brooks is the fifth prisoner to escape police custody since June.
Police Commissioner Bill Bratton slammed the officers involved and said they're an embarrassment to themselves and the department.
"They will be dealt with very appropriately," Bratton said Tuesday.
Brooks was wanted on a domestic violence complaint and has a lengthy arrest record.
He has brown eyes and long black dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap, blue hooded jacket and blue jeans, police said.
