Police: Long Island Man Accused Of Smashing Bar Window, Dragging Another Man With Truck

ISLAND PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Long Island man is accused of smashing a bar window and dragging a man more than 100 feet with his truck as he fled.

It began at The Local Ale House in Island Park when Robert Locascio, 47, of Malverne, smashed the front window of the bar with a 2-by-4 early Tuesday morning, police said.

As he tried to drive away, a 29-year-old man hung onto the side of Locascio's truck and was dragged down the street, police said.

The victim suffered head, face and knee injuries.

It wasn't immediately clear if the two men knew each other.

Police said Locascio was in possession of metal knuckles and intoxicated when he was placed under arrest.

He faces charges including attempted assault, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.

Locascio is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
