Subscribe to the Boomer & Carton Podcast »

Darryl Strawberry stopped by the Allstate Studio on Thursday morning to talk with his two pals, Boomer and Craig, about the Mets as they battle the Royals in the World Series.

Strawberry - here on behalf of Steiner Sports as they will be honoring the 30th Anniversary of the 1986 World Series Championship Mets team with a special event, for tickets click here - is clearly behind this group of players and reminisced about his own playing days, focusing primarily of the beloved 1986 team, certainly a thing that knew a thing or two about perseverance.

We heard Darryl talk about the importance of getting big hits and the mentality you need to have when trailing a series 2-0, as is the current predicament facing the Mets.

Straw said he would advise Matt Harvey to tone it down, talked about his former teammates Lenny Dykstra and Ray Knight, and hinted that fans may see him out on the mound before the season officially ends.

Strawberry also shared that he could probably bench 260 pounds.
