Police Charge Homeless Man In Attempted Rape Of 8-Year-Old Girl In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have arrested a homeless man they said tried to rape an 8-year-old girl as she walked into a Bronx apartment building last month.
Justin Ramirez, 21, is charged with forcible compulsion, sexual contact with an individual under 11 years old, forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child and related offenses in connection with the Oct. 24 incident.
Ramirez came up behind the girl, covered her mouth and restrained her as he put his hand down her pants, police said. He ran off after the girl began screaming.
The girl was taken to a local hospital where she was treated, and later released, police said.
