Funeral To Be Held For 83-Year-Old Lois Colley In North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A funeral will be held Friday for a Westchester County socialite who police said was found murdered inside her home on Monday.

Lois Colley, 83, was found dead inside her sprawling hilltop estate known as Windswept Farm on Titicus Road in North Salem.

A caretaker at the 300-acre manor found Colley's body in the laundry room. State Police said Colley died of blunt force trauma and that a missing fire extinguisher could be the murder weapon.

There were no signs that anyone had forced their way into the home.

Her husband, 88-year-old Eugene Colley, owns about 100 McDonald's restaurants.

New York State Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the New York State Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-866-313- tips (8477) or go to the NYS Crime Stoppers website.
