NYPD: Men Sold Restaurant Employee Empty Boxes, Took Off With Cash

NEW YORK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is looking for two unidentified men who allegedly took $1,400 from a woman in a false transaction of high-priced electronics.

According to police, the two suspects entered Chopsticks, a Chinese restaurant in Richmond Hill, and attempted to sell a female employee two iPads and an iPhone 6. The 32-year-old woman agreed to purchase the items and handed the men $1,400 in exchage for a bag containing the alleged merchandise, police said.

When the woman opened the bag, she realized she was left with empty boxes, police said.

Police have release images of the suspects, pictured above. Both are described as 38 to 40 years old.
