Amy Schumer, Jennifer Aniston Team Up With Shooting Survivors To Help End Gun Violence

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- "We can end gun violence."

That was the message when celebrities like Long Island native Amy Schumer, Jennifer Aniston, Spike Lee and Sofia Vergara teamed up with violence prevention group Everytown For Gun Safety in a new social media campaign aimed to spread gun safety awareness and advocate for reform.

The video was posted on YouTube only a week after the deadly San Bernardino shootings.

The video places celebrities among men, women, children, family members of shooting victims and shooting survivors -- all repeating the same slogan in a montage:

"We can end gun violence."

Everytown For Gun Safety is asking the public to submit their own personal videos through their website, to be added to the piece.

This isn't the first time Schumer has been involved in campaigning for gun legislation.

The actress and comedian teamed up with cousin and New York Senator Charles Schumer earlier this year with the #AIMINGFORCHANGE campaign -- another social media initiative dedicated to spreading awareness for gun law reform.

The initiative was prompted by an earlier shooting at a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana, while Amy Schumer's movie "Trainwreck" was playing.
