Fitzpatrick, Manning Take Home Offensive Player Of The Week Awards

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The MetLife Stadium quarterbacks had massive showings in Week 14.

And they were rewarded for their efforts.

Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, while Giants quarterback Eli Manning took home NFC honors.

In Gang Green's dominating 30-8 win over the Titans, Fitzpatrick completed 21 of 36 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns. He didn't throw any interceptions and was sacked just once. The journeyman also rushed three times for 23 yards.

Big Blue's two-time Super Bowl MVP was even better. In a must-win game against the Dolphins on Monday Night Football, Manning completed an incredible 27 of 31 passes for 337 yards and four touchdowns. He wasn't intercepted or sacked by Miami's defense. With the victory, the Giants' playoff hopes remain alive.

Both New York football teams will need their signal-callers to continue to be exceptional in the final three weeks of the regular season.

The Giants (6-7) are in a three-way tie with the Eagles and Redskins atop the NFC East. If the season ended today, the Redskins would win the division by virtue of the tiebreaker.

The Jets are in a slightly more comfortable position at 8-5, but they, too, don't control their own destiny. They're currently the sixth seed in the AFC, but the Chiefs and Steelers hold identical 8-5 marks.
