Upper East Side Store Robbed At Knifepoint, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Tuesday for a suspect in the knifepoint robbery of a convenience store on the Upper East Side.

Police responded at 9:19 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, to a convenience store at 230 E. 80th St. The male suspect walked into the store and took out a knife as he demanded cash and cigarettes from a 32-year-old male employee, police said.

The suspect took off with $350 and a lone pack of cigarettes, police said.

The male suspect was described as white and wearing a black hooded sweat shirt. He was later seen wearing a black baseball hat, a dark-colored jacket and a white T-shirt, police said.
